Obituary For Douglas Shale Young

Douglas Shale Young, a devoted husband and father was born on March 24, 1947 in Fort Pierce, Florida to the late Willie Clyde Young and Ruth D. Hall.

Douglas received his education through the St. Lucie County Public School System. He graduated from Lincoln Park Academy with the class of 1967. Douglas furthered his education during his service in the United States Army. He enjoyed fishing, lawn care, and singing for the Lord. Douglas was a dedicated member of Greater New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Reverend Clarence Ingram.

Douglas married his loving wife Marguerite Grace Young on June 30, 2001. From this union came a beautiful baby girl that they named Jolecia Young.

On September 14, 2020 at 10:22p.m. God sent his angels to the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center to pluck Douglas' flower from the Garden of Life. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth D. Hall; father, Willie C. Young; Grandmothers, Flossie Jackson and Gerrylean Maultsby; Brother, Samuel Wayne Hall; Sister Beverly C. Young-Brown.

Left to cherish his memories are: his loving wife Marguerite Young; daughters: Lori Young, Tekelia McClain, Sandra Young, Shareka (Earnest) Scott, and Jolecia Young; Sons: Rokerry Shale (Sharonda) Young, Demetris Anderson, Jayden Young and Kimbo Fitzgerald Young (dog); Siblings: brothers Mark Hall, Cornell D. Young, sisters Ronimarie Hall, Damita Hall, and Lavienia (Harold) Henderson. Uncles Kenyon Brown, Matthew Bethel; Aunts Lois Williams and Gladys Horton; Mother-in-law Jeanette Crenshaw; In-laws Felicia (Cliff) Graham, Bridget Jerger, Crystal Crenshaw, Vincent (Lavienia) Crenshaw, Christopher Lynch (Erica); 22 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, godchildren Jacob Black, Marquell (Monica) Carswell, Addophous Gordon, LaToya Anderson, Nathaniel Witty; Special friends: Melvin Carnegie, Benjamin Chapman, Johny Hollis, Ronald Williams, Syvester Watson, Tony Harvey, Larry Smith and Larry Richardson; Special niece Scharlestina Sanders, and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.

A celebration of Douglas' life will convene on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at 1:30pm at Greater New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Pierce, FL. Interment will be at a later date in South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL.

Although many venues have opened and the restrictions of COVID 19 have been relaxed, we here at Stone Brothers Funeral Homes are still enforcing the guidelines set forth by the CDC and FDOH to protect our families and our staff.
