Obituary For Johnnie Wallace

Johnnie Lewis Wallace, affectionately known as “Johnny Boy” was born on August 11, 1961 in Gastonia, NC. He was the son of the late Marvin “Shot” Wallace and Martha Adams Wallace. He departed this life on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at the Robin Johnson Hospice in Dallas, NC.

He was a dedicated cook at “Deborah Fish and Chicken” in Gastonia, NC. He was a loving husband for fifteen years, a devoted step-father and caring grandfather. To know Johnny is to know he was a die-hard Washington Redskins fan. He served faithfully as a member of Holy Jerusalem Life Changing Ministry where he was a deacon and armor bearer. He was a devoted husband, stepfather, grandfather, brother, cousin, uncle, and friend to many.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Martha Adams Wallace and Marvin “Shot” Wallace; two sisters: Barbara Wallace and Rosa Lee Cook; two brothers: James “Bo Diddley” Adams and Donald Ray “Shakey Baby” Wallace; two nephews: Richard Wallace and Little Marvin Wallace.

He leaves to cherish his memories to his wife, teacher: Brenda Wallace; step-children: Shamell “Artie” Morrison and Joshua Sturgis, Danielle (Eric) Brice all of Gastonia, NC and Kenya Morrison of Bessemer City, NC; three brothers: Marvin Wallace of Gastonia, NC, Ronald Wallace of Shelby, NC and Jeffery (Bernice) Wallace of Albany, GA; one sister: Jocelyn Smith of Dallas, NC; step mother: Mattie Wallace; three step-sisters: Deborah Mason, Wendy Mason and Carolyn Mason all of Gastonia, NC; one step brother: Anthony Wallace of Clover, SC; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; special cousin: Myrtle McCleave; two aunts: Georgia Mae Setzer and Bessie Anderson, one uncle: James “Sonny Boy” Setzer; special friends: Pastor Arthur McDowell, Brother Stanley Edwards and Arv “Mark” Hall and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Walk thru viewing: Monday; September 28, 2020 at the funeral home from 4 until 8

Funeral: Tuesday; September 29, 2020; 2:00 p.m.; City of David Church-2500 Crescent Lane, Gastonia

Visitation: thirty minutes before the service at the church
