Obituary For Georgia Etta Horton

Georgia Etta Horton, 85, of Harrisburg, transitioned into eternal life on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at the Colonial Park Care Center.

She was born in Lenoir, NC, daughter of the late Oddman and Pearl (Council) Horton, retired LPN from the Harrisburg Hospital and a member of Bethel A. M. E. Church, where she served with the Stewardess and Missionary Ministries. Georgia leaves to celebrate her life, her sons, Bryan Horton and Robert Horton, Jr.; her daughter, Sherri Wright; her devoted sister, Marie Manigault; her seven grandchildren; 15 great-grands and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Her life will be celebrated on Thursday, October 1st at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, 704 N. Front St., Steelton with viewing 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. and burial in William Howard Day Cemetery. Covid 19 guidelines will be observed with masks and six foot social distancing for all attendees.

Aunt Georgia was a true woman of God. She was always sweet, kind and loving to me and my children. She always made us feel truly loved. I'm thankful that I was able to spend her last birthday with her and she was very very very loved.

Georgia's children will not know me but their Aunt Marie will. She was married to my uncle Robert Horton(my dad's brother.)I knew Georgia and family all my life being originally from Lenoir. I am so sorry to hear about her death and my deepest sympathy goes out to her family members. Her children are my 1st cousins so I would love to hear from them.God bless all of you
