Obituary For Avis Brown

Manning, SC

Avis Laverne Jones Watts Brown, daughter of the late Jessie Lee and Louise Davis Jones, was born on February 24, 1952 in Washington, DC.

"AB" or the "Tax Lady", as she was affectionately called, was educated in the public schools of Washington, DC. She furthered her education in an adult program for tax preparation and bookkeeping.

Avis never met a stranger and her warm smile and loving heart will be remembered by everyone she encountered. In 1984, she married the love of her life, Isaac Brown, Sr. Together, they have ten children.

Avis was a great woman. She loved her family and friends. She enjoyed sharing "her" advice on how life should be lived.

As her health prevailed, Avis also enjoyed working as a waitress at Goat Island, an employee of Air Cap Industry, Cox's Tax Service, Wateree Community Actions and Price and Company Tax Services.

On Friday, October 2, 2020, the all-wise God touched Avis and called her home.

Her precious memories will be forever cherished by her loving husband, Isaac Brown, Sr. of the home; three sons: Melvin Watts of Sumpterville, FL, Daymond Gibson of Baltimore, MD and Isaac (Tyshona) Brown, Jr. of Manning, SC; seven daughters: Lashawn Watts of Baltimore, MD, Tarsha (Terrian) Blackwell of Sumter, SC, Tiffany (Kelvin) Lemon, Ivy Watts, Kimberly Brown, Brandi Brown and Natalie (Mesean) Dingle all of Manning, SC; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren from SC, Baltimore, MD and Washington, DC. She also leaves behind one sister, Ann Jones of Washington, DC and one brother, Raymond (Mary) Davis of Clinton, MD, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

The family is receiving friends from 5PM til 8PM daily at her residence, 625 Sykes St. Manning, SC and on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 from 3:00PM til 6:00PM at Samuels Funeral Home, 14 N. Church Street, Manning, SC.
