~THE OBITUARY~

"Who could find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above Rubies" Proverbs 31:10

Pearlie Scriven Davis Busby was born January 17, 1948, in Allendale County, South Carolina. The daughter of the late Perry Lee Scriven and the late Beatrice Smoaks Scriven.

At an early age, she joined Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Gifford, South Carolina. Her faith in God never wavered. As she continued on her life's journey, she later united her fellowship with St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, Fairfax, South Carolina, and later she restored her membership back with her home church Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church carrying her duties as a servant of God. During her service, she served in many capacities of the Missionary Society, Bible study team, Vice-President of the Nazarene Baptist Missionary Auxiliary, and she sung on the choir just to name a few.

Pearlie attended the public schools of Hampton County and was a 1966 graduate of Estill Training School. After graduation, she furthered her studies at Claflin University, Orangeburg, South Carolina receiving her Bachelor's of Science Degree. She continued her education at Leslie University receiving her Master's in Education.

She spent her Professional Career as an educator in the Hampton County District 2 School System. She taught at Estill Elementary School teaching grades Pre-Kindergarten and Second Grade. The love for her family and the children in her community was her passion. She enjoyed singing, growing and arranging flowers, crafting and decorating, and most of all teaching and loving the children in her community.

Pearlie was a member of Ruth Chapter #225 OES, Gifford, South Carolina and Claflin University Alumni.

On September 1, 1969, Pearlie married the love of her life Bruce N. Davis. To this union, two children were born Myron and Felicia.

"The future is not to know, and it may never be, so let us give our best, never anticipating or doubting the power of our Savior; asking nothing of tomorrow except-THY WILL BE DONE."

Our loved one has been taken, but God has gained another angel. On Friday, October 2, 2020, Pearlie departed this life at Colleton Medical Center, Walterboro, South Carolina. Peace comes to us knowing that she is not suffering with pain and hopelessness. As she enters her new life, she will be greeted with love from her parents, Dearest son: Myron Davis, Siblings: James Arthur Smoaks, Johnny Lee Scriven, Robert Scriven, and Diane Scriven Washington.

For those we love just don't go away but, yet they walk beside us each and every day. Unspoken, unheard, unfelt, but always near, we still love you, miss you and wish you was here.

We are sadden to hear of the homegoing of our beloved sister Pearlie Mae. It is Gods will to call us home from our labor, yet our humanness still responds in surprise. We pray in the spirit for the family and friends as we pass the assurance that God will take care of you, as you trust him. Reverend Paul and Hilda Williams Bahama North Carolina.
