Sis. Mary Reid, age 94 of Stanford, Kentucky, entered the Gates of Heaven on Saturday, October 3, 2020. She was the widow of Edwin Reid.

Mary was born September 19, 1926 in Crab Orchard, KY to the late James and Gertrude Norris Bright.

She was a graduate of Lincoln High School. Mary was a devoted member of First Missionary Baptist Church of Stanford, KY, Mary had a willing spirit to assist where needed.

Mary retired from American Greetings after many years of service, where she was a supervisor, always had a smile on her face and a pleasant tone in her voice. She was an avid fan of the University of Kentucky Basketball and a member of the Old Pansy Club.

She was also preceded in death five sisters and three brothers.

Mary is survived by her loving children Sharon Reid of Stanford, KY Kentucky Douglas Reid (Mary) of Stanford, KY; four grandchildren, Troy Reid, Michael Reid, David Reid and Courtney Reid; six great grandchildren; one sister Virginia Smith of Lexington, KY; two special nieces Christine Reid of Stanford, KY and Anne Sleet of Perryville, KY; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, her church family and friends.

Mary was one of the kindest people a person could ever meet. I first met her at American Greetings as a teenager. She helped me so much. She was a friend to anyone that needed her.
