Obituary For Nancy Reid

Nancy G. Reid, 72, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 27, 2020.

Nancy was educated in the Lancaster County School System. She was a 1966 graduate of Barr Street High School. She began her postsecondary education at Friendship College, where she obtained an associate degree in English. She matriculated at Benedict College graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in English.

Nancy retired with the Baltimore City Public School System. Nancy was a member of Greater Saint John Baptist Church in Baltimore, MD.

Left to cherish her memories are two sisters, Shirley Duncan (Mike) of Abingdon, MD and Kimberly McDowell of Baltimore, MD; one brother, Bingham Reid, Jr. (Jackie) of Lancaster, SC; a long-time companion, Benjamin Battle of Baltimore, MD; four godchildren, Nhea Duncan, Ebonnie Duncan Nedd (Kaylan), Kahlia McDowell and Khloe McDowell; fifteen nieces and nephews, twelve great-nieces and nephews, and two great-great nieces; three aunts and one uncle.

Funeral Service will be Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Saint Paul Baptist Church by the Reverend George Mingo and Reverend M. Jamal Foster with burial in the church cemetery. Viewing will be Monday, October 5, 2020 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Stewart Funeral Home.

I remember when I was in high school at patterson she would always call me old man and I would respond with hey old lady nd at the end of the day she would always say love u old man nd I would say love u back old lady R.I.P

I had the pleasure of meeting Mrs Reid and having her for English II & III. My jr n sr year. She was amazing and fun. Seen her 1x since I graduated n 87. My heart goes out to her family n I pray that GOD embraces you all. REST ON MRS REID

I had Mrs Reid for English at Patterson High School in 1972. She was the best teacher, she pushed me to do me best. I struggled in English and would have failed if not for her. I will always remember her. RIP Mrs Reid and thank you for all you did for me.

I use to ride the bus when I was living with my grandmother on Bethel Boat Landing now Edgewater as a teenager. We graduated together and I thought a great deal of her with a beautiful smile. Our prayers goes out to the family and bid you the Lord's Grace and Peace. Charlie & Patricia Jordan
