Obituary For Shayaun Renee Simmons

SHAYAUN RENEE SIMMONS, 32, of Palmyra, Pennsylvania peacefully accepted her angel wings on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at The Gardens of West Shore in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania after a long illness. “Shay”, as she was affectionately called by family members and friends, the daughter of Charisse N. Folks and Marquette L. Warren, was born at the Polyclinic Hospital in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She received her formal education in Harrisburg School District and was a graduate of Harrisburg High School with the Class of 2006. She was an employee of AT&T as a Customer Service Representative in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania until her illness caused her to resign. On August 23, 2014, “Shay”, was united in marriage to Brian K. Simmons of York, Pennsylvania. From that union with the love-of-her-life came the blessing of two children; their daughter, Imani and their son, Brian III. Shay was deeply loved by her family and enjoyed spending time with her husband and children and in her leisure, she enjoyed shopping, cooking and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers that she was a faithful fan of. In her life’s journey, Shay leaves behind many great memories of her and their life together. Shayaun Renee Simmons was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Ruby J. Folks; her paternal grandfather, Chaucer “Pop Pop” Duncan and her aunt, Lisa Waller. She leaves to cherish precious memories of her, her beloved husband, Brian K. Simmons; her devoted children, Imani N. Simmons and Brian K. Simmons II of Palmyra, Pennsylvania; her mother, Charisse of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; her father, Marquette L. Warren (Dianna) of Killeen, Texas; her sister, Danielle Folks of Hershey, Pennsylvania; her step-sister, Lisa Warren of Killeen, Texas; her devoted friend, Markeia Gordon of Steelton, Pennsylvania; her nephew, Jaidyn Folks and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members and friends.

Her life will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 6th at 12 Noon in the Chapel of Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, 704 N. Front St., Steelton with viewing 10 a.m. until Noon. Covid 19 guidelines will be observed with masks and six foot social distancing for all attendees. Live streaming of the service will be available on the Major H. Shay I have thought about you many times since working with you at AT&T. I remember your good heart, spunk, laid back nature, how much you loved your kids and "Boogie" Brian. I'm sorry I could not be there physically but I am there. I love you my friend and will miss you dearly. Sarah Marroquin
