Mr. Jerome Garrett was born on August 5, 1956, to the union of W. D. Garrett and Ocelia Swain Garrett in Alpine, Alabama.
Mr. Garrett was a long time member of Kingston Missionary Baptist Church. He received his education at Talladega County Training School and it commenced in 1979. Jerome was a retiree of Long Drilling Company. He was a member of the Magnificent 15+3 Social and Savings Club and enjoyed watching football, especially the University of Alabama.
On Monday, October 5, 2020, Jerome answered the master’s call at the University of Alabama Birmingham Hospital. He was preceded in passing by his father, W. D. Garrett; and a brother, Charles Garrett.
Cherished memories will live in the hearts of his loving companion of 26 years, Adrian Chapman of Talladega, Alabama; his mother, Ocelia Garrett of Alpine, Alabama; two daughters, Tawanekia Wells of Alpine, Alabama and Adaria Swain of Talladega, Alabama; one son, Steven Swain of Talladega, Alabama; one grandson, Michael “MJ” Wells; two sisters, Carol Lewis of Alpine, Alabama and Jacqueline Turner of Childersburg, Alabama; two brothers, Michael Garrett of Alpine, Alabama and Kirk (Audrey) Garrett of Talladega, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
