Sylvana was a graduate of Instituto Jose Delores Moscote in Panama City, Panama. After her graduation she immigrated to the United States of America in, 1980.
She went on to work for Walmart as a dedicated employee for 21 years; displaying a knack for solving problems, mentoring others, and cultivating meaningful relationships with everyone she encountered. Outside of work she loved to travel, taking every opportunity seize all the adventures that life gave her—she was even once a stow away on a Caribbean cruise. Sylvana had a lively sense of humor, she loved to crack jokes and to enjoy a good laugh.
She was world renowned for not holding back her opinion and had an uncanny ability to tell you like it is. With that said—she was genuine, loving and the real deal; she sugar coated nothing. For those who truly knew her she was kind, caring and had a loving personality; she was always willing to help, fellowship and extend prayers; which vastly enlarged her circle of friends. To know her was to respect her but most certainly to love her.
Sylvana was a good and faithful servant of the Lord, she loved God. She was an active member of Pillars of Fire Apostolic Church. Her two favorite scriptures are Psalms 27 & Psalms 91 which brought her continual comfort.
Preceded in death by her parents Bishop Harold Lloyd Joseph and Dorothy Ilene Hunte.
Sylvana leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Valerie Holder; her son, Antonio Holder Jr.; her brother, Kenneth E. Joseph; her sister-in-law, Marcy L. Mitchell-Joseph; cousin, Bryant K. Smith; 4 nieces, 1 nephew, 2 great-nephews, 2 great-nieces, a host of cousins, extended family, friends, and work colleagues.
Graveside services will be held Thursday October 15, 2020 at the Westover Memorial Park located at 2601 Wheeler Road. Due to COVID-19 restrictions the funeral is limited to immediate family only.
