As a child he grew up in Alexandria, VA. He attended TC Williams and George Washington High Schools in Alexandria, VA. He then continued on to Northern Virginia Community College. He also lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma for three years working for UPS as a truck driver. He then returned to Virginia living in Sterling Park. He started his first small business, Miles Unlimited, after working for Orkin Pest Control. He was determined to succeed and did just that. He purchased his second home and while running his business during the daylight hours he began working for United Airlines where he worked for 18 years.
He was a very driven individual and as he continued to work towards his dreams and goals, he met his lovely wife, Elaine Miles, of 25 years. They eventually relocated from Manassas, VA to Loris, SC. Bot enjoyed working on and occasionally driving his 1972 Mach1 Mustang. He loved fishing, good music, dancing, football, family gatherings, and especially playing jokes on people.
Bot was preceded in death by his brother Sylvania C. Miles and one sister Waheedah Mutee.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine Miles of SC, four children Jermaine C. Miles of NC, Jason A. Miles of NC, Calise Lee-Edwards of VA, and Pervis C. Lee of MD. Two daughters-in-law, Marina Miles and Wendy Lee, and one son-in-law, Mark Edwards; four grandchildren Gabriel Miles, Isaac Miles, Julian Lee, and Jacquelyn Lee; one brother, Chauncey R. Miles of VA; two nephews El-Amin Mutee of VA and Jason O. Orange of MD; one uncle Otis Mackey of Kansas; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Miles will be held Saturday, October 17, 2020 at United Funeral Home, LLC in the D.L. Grate Memorial Chapel at 3 pm. Bishop Johnell Rowell will be doing the eulogy.
