Deacon Purdy Parson, 81, widow of Yvonne Saunders Parson, died Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at his residence. He was born September 23, 1939 in Summerton, SC, a son of the late Jimmie Parson and Fannie Richburg Parson.

Graveside services for Deacon Parson will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Taw Caw Missionary Baptist Church, 1130 Granby Lane Summerton, SC. Rev. Dr. W.T. Johnson, pastor officiating.

Due to COVID-19, the family is not receiving visitors.

Purdy, you were my cousin, neighbor, and friend. I have already begun to miss your smiling face. Although you will be deeply missed, I know you have reunited with your dearly beloved Yvonne. RIP Cousin!!!!!!!

Purdy was a good friend for the 12 years we lived near him. We fished together many days and solved many of the worlds problems in our discussions. We are sure that he is once again united with his beloved Ynonne. RIP Purdy.
