Obituary For Annie Bell Bolling

Annie Bell Simmons-Bolling, 82, of East Palatka, Florida was born on Thursday, May 19, 1938 to Algie J. Simmons and Annie Mae Franklin in Hastings, Florida. She married Hilbert Van Bolling and after his demise, later became engaged to Clem (Bip) Shorter, Jr. Annie was a seasonal farmer for thirty plus years. She was also employed with Dominex for 10 years. Annie enjoyed playing cards and was known to be “The Queen of Spades”. She loved gardening, fishing, cooking, being a grandmother and nurturing individuals in the community. Mrs. Annie Bell Bolling always looked out for everyone in the community before herself. She fed, clothed, and housed those in need. If you needed transportation, you knew just who to ask. If you needed a plate, you knew just who to ask. If you needed a shelter from the rain, you knew just where to go. If you need extra funds because your bills were past due, you knew just who to ask. If you needed only a listening ear, you knew just who to talk to. A woman of a multitude of leadership characteristics, the ultimate people’s person Mrs. Annie Bell Bolling. She was a member of Mt. Olive A.M.E church of East Palatka, FL. On Thursday, October 8, 2020, Mrs. Annie Bell Bolling transitioned into the sunset of life at U.F. Shands of Gainesville.

My grandmother was the center of our family. She made us understand who God is and what family mean. My grandmother truly never met a stranger nor did she ever forget a face. There will never be anyone to take her place. #Shock
