Obituary For Bettye Jewel Mallett

On August 28, 1951, Bettye Jewel Jones, a beautiful baby girl was born in Kosciusko, Mississippi to the late West Jones and Mattie Anderson Jones - first daughter of six children. She transitioned to eternity with her Lord and Savior n Friday, October 10, 2020 in Plano, Texas.

At an early age, she confessed her life to Christ and was baptized at Delydia Hill Baptist Church in Kosciusko, Mississippi. Later in life she joined St. Timothy Baptist Church in Monroe, Louisiana. She was a Faithful Christian that loved the Lord. Her favorite scripture was Isaiah 53:5, "But he was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed."

Bettye graduated from Greenlee High School in 1971 and attended Delta Vocational Technical College in Monroe, Louisiana in Business. Her career started in the retail industry where she was employed for many years. She was an entrepreneur who started her own jewelry business. Bettye was a successful Insurance agent for Reliable Life Insurance for over 10 years, while there she was awarded Top sales person of the year on several occasions. She established an awesome relationship with her clients that lead to many friendships that lasted a lifetime.

Bettye enjoyed life by traveling with her family and volunteering. She also enjoyed helping others including her neighbors and the disadvantage. She had a "Heart of Gold."

In 1970, she married the love of her life, Larry Mallett and to this union, one daughter was born.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; brothers, Ed, Bennie Joe and sister, Tina.

She leaves so many people to cherish her legacy including he daughter, Ronda Tucker; three grand-daughters, Jasmine, London and Makiah and one great grandson, Landry. Two brothers, Wesley Jones (Regina), Hubert Jones (Jean) and two sisters, Sue Jones (Arnold) and Hilda Hoston. A brother-in-law, Floyd Erving; a special friend, Lorin Warfield and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
