I am truly sorry for your loss and I am truly overwhelmed with emotions. I spoke with another one of our classmates about his passing and we sympathetically talked about Nolen for almost an hour. One of my fondest memories of him was after graduating high school, when he broke his leg riding horseback and was in the VA Hospital in Montgomery. I swung by to see him in the hospital while in Montgomery on a family matter. He did not expect me. When I stood in the doorway, he had the biggest smile on his face as he pointed towards me. As I approached, his eyes were welled with tears and he said that he did not know that so many people loved him. From the messages posted here, he was loved by many. My condolences to the entire family and may he rest in paradise. Myrtis Myles, Class of 1971

When we were in high school, one of the highlights of our weekend was to watch an electrifying basketball performance by Nolen Cox for the R.C. Hatch High School Bobcats. After the game, all the neighborhood kids walked home together joking and laughing. Later, our children would become classmates at Selma High School. Sending my sincerest condolences to my family. My thoughts and Prayers are with the Cox Family. Nolen's Classmate, Roberta Ward Johnson
