Obituary For Carolyn Gardner

Carolyn Gardner, of Boiling Springs North Carolina, passed away October 14,2020 in Huntersville, NC. Carolyn was born in Cleveland County to Milous and Pearl (Logan) Martin on April 29 , 1930. She graduated from Green Bethel High School in Boiling Springs. She went on to attend a Secretarial School in Washington, DC. At an early age, she joined Young’s Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, Mooresboro, NC. Later she became an active member of Green Bethel Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the missionary society. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, shopping with her sister and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Carolyn was married to Samuel Gardner after hearing him sing in church. It was love at first sight. Together they went on to have four wonderful daughters. Regina, Arevia, Cassandra and Debra.

Carolyn worked at Gardner Web University, Fiber and Belk. She had a strong work ethic and was always working.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Milous and Pearl, her husband, Samuel Gardner, two sisters, Vernisha Rose White (Detroit) and Hilda Moore (Troutman). She leaves behind her dear sister Iris (Martin) Koonce (Greensboro, NC), with whom she shared a special bond, her daughters, Regina Ann Moore (Milton), (Raleigh) Arevia Nero (Spaniel),(Charlotte), Cassandra Henderson (Melvin) (Fayetteville) and Debra Wilkins (Frank) (Roper) a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, cousins and friends.

Carolyn was our matriarch and the foundation of our legacy and we will continue to grow stronger and wiser.

A funeral service for Ms. Gardner will be private. The service will be livestreamed on Facebook starting at 2:45 PM on Thursday. Ms. Gardner can be viewed on Thursday, October 22, 2020, at S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM. Burial will take place at Cleveland Memorial Park Cemetery in Shelby, NC.

Regina, Arevia, Cassandra, and Debra and other family members- I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Aunt Carolyn. She was such a sweet and caring person. I know your heart is heavy and you are wondering, "when will this grief and pain end?" Well, it will take a while but be patient with yourself, feel what you feel.
