Obituary For Jeffery Frederick Brown

Jeffery Frederick Maurice Brown left this world and ascended to glory on October 15, 2020. He navigated his 38 years with a poet's spirit and an inquisitive soul. Jeff was born on May 9, 1982 in Richmond, Virginia. He graduated from Lake Gibson High School in Lakeland, Florida. Though that represented the end of his formal education, Jeff's innate curiosity spurred him to pursue all kinds of knowledge. He was a natural athlete, a deep thinker, a hard worker, and a slam poet par excellence. Jeff was and is loved by his surviving family, including his father, Dr. John J. Brown, Jr. (Frances); mother, Linda Curry Blue (Earnest); daughter, Alana McKenzie Brown; sisters, Julia and Luci Brown; brother, John J. Brown III (Rebecca); aunt, Julia Brown; nieces, Hannah and Abigail Brown; nephews, Vaun Passley, Xavier Hines, and Joshua Brown; and a host of cousins and friends. A viewing is scheduled for 10am on Saturday, October 24 with service to follow at 11am at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd., Richmond, VA 23222.
