Hazella Brown

Tallahassee - Hazella Yvette Brown, 78, of Tallahassee, passed away on October 17, 2020, in Seven Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born June 2, 1942, in Tallahassee. She joined Harry Lee Brown in holy matrimony in September 1972, and moved to Omaha, Nebraska. She returned to Tallahassee in 1981 where she resided until her passing. She loved cooking, sewing, helping others, and spending time with family.

Survivors include her devoted husband of 48 years Harry; one son, Sherrod Brown (Kristin); two granddaughters, Brooklynne and Claire; siblings, Violet Washington, Ernestine Henry, Forrest Young, Jr, Fred Young, Olivia Henry, and Lynconyer Caldwell (George) and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, and loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Penny Young; her father, Forrest Young, Sr.; and sister, Irene Thomas.

Funeral service will be 1 PM Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Strong & Jones Chapel with burial 1 PM Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at the Tallahassee National Cemetery. Viewing will be from 11 AM to 6 PM Friday, October 23, 2020 at Strong & Jones Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Big Bend Hospice House, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd. Tallahassee, FL 32308.
