I have to join these friends in sharing my friendship with Youngs. I met him here in NEW Bern my hometown in 2007.He had moved here to care for his mother. He did a fantastic job caring for her. We didn't get to go out a lot because she didn't like being alone. We both had a love of music jazz was our favorite. I took him to the beach his first time in Morehead he loved it. We shared some music drinks and laughs over the past several months since COVID. RIP friend you will be missed. Earscell Dixon.

To the Leff family,my deepest sympathy. When I met Youngsy I was a baby. He is best friends with my brother Ricky,a true friend. I recall when I was young, thinking they all were so cool together, they were always into something. Throughout the years he has been my other brother. It's hard to believe just three weeks ago we were joking and laughing on the phone. We would call or text each other once a month. His reasoning...checking to make sure I was behaving myself.:-) This song came to my heart,"I'm Really Going to Miss You" by Smokey Robinson. This song reminds me of the love and friendship Youngsy, Ricky and their friends shared. Lyndia Braithwaite

I reminisce about our teenage years on the Youth Choir at Bethany Methodist and as Boy Scouts. From our first real Jobs at A&P food stores to a full carrier at AT&T. From time to time, we would laugh when reminiscing about our military experience agreeing that it was somewhere between "Full Metal Jacket" and "Stripes." In thinking of our shared relationships with our other Bros, something like "Cooley High", "The Best Man", "The Five Heartbeats", and endearingly referring to all of us as "Temptations Forever". Through many shared life events, Youngs is clearly embedded into the tapestry of my life; most of My friends and family know Youngs. I also know many of Youngs' friends; their diversity attests to his heartfelt expression of love for people. Youngs Leff, our friend, will be missed. RIP. Rick Topping

When I think of Youngs, I smile and even laugh out loud. I met Youngs 60 years ago and I feel so blessed and thankful that God placed him in my life. There are so many good memories with Youngs, the laugh; the serious/jovial conversations; the partying together and the time spent together in the Youth Group at Bethany Methodist Church. He was a true and loyal friend. He will be solely missed, but will live on in my thoughts and heart. Betty Phillips

Went to Public School 167 and Junior High School 210 with Youngs and were Boy and Cub scout members of Troop and Pack 731 at Bethany Methodist Church, Brooklyn NY. He came all the way from North Carolina to NYC to attend my Retirement Party in 2009. Wonderful surprise. He was a great friend and will be surely missed. May he rest in heavenly Peace. My deepest sympathy to the Leff family. I remember, youngs as a high school teenager and member of Bethany Methodist Church ("MYF"). Youngs and his friends Harry, Ricky, and Kenny were always doing impressions of Smokie Robinson & The Temptations at church functions. May Youngs Leff rest in peace. - Meredith Brown
