I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one. I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun; Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.

Ms. Annie Newell, age 99, of 132 Will Cheek Road in Warrenton, North Carolina departed this life on Sunday, October 18, 2020 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Boyd and Royster Funeral Service in Warrenton, NC. Reverend Lewis Robinson will officiate and Reverend Doris Jean Williams will deliver the Eulogy. The burial will follow at Little Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Warrenton, NC.

She leaves to cherish her memories one son, Rufus Newell (Gloria-a very special daughter-in-law); four grandsons, Culbert, Christopher, Stanley, and Stanford (Marquita); one sister, Bertha Robinson of Baltimore, MD; nine great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and her former nurse, Lisa Clark.

Ms. Annie Pearl Newell will be on view at the funeral home on Friday, October 23, 2020 starting at 11:00 am until 5:00 pm.
