Obituary For Ralph Ecxford

Ralph Edward Ecxford Jr. was born on December 28, 1965 to Mr. Ralph Ecxford Sr and the late Mrs. Ruth Johnson Ecxford in Mexico, Missouri.

He confessed Christ at an early age as his personal Lord and Savior at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Zion, IL and was baptized by Reverend Dr. BJ Gaston.

Ralph received his formal education in the Community Unit School District, Waukegan, IL. He graduated in 1984 from Waukegan East High School. After graduating he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served his country for four years ending his tour of duty on January 21, 1988.

Ralph had a love for his family, for people and for the “Road”. He worked many jobs in his lifetime, but Truck Driving and later UBER/LYFT driving was what he truly enjoyed.

Ralph will be remembered for having a lot of love and affection. His warm and friendly smile will be cherished by many. He was truly a joy to be around.

On November 17, 2018 he married his soulmate, Vicki Giles Ecxford. They had a love for traveling, eating out and having fun.

Mr. Ralph Ecxford Jr. departed this life on October 20, 2020, after a brief illness at Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, AL.

He was preceded in death by his loving and devoted mother Mrs. Ruth Ecxford; his mother-in-law Mrs. Ella Mae Giles; his son Jamar Edward Ecxford.

Ralph leaves to cherish his memories a loved and devoted wife Vicki Giles Ecxford; daughter Mrs. Luvenia (D’Angelo) Ecxford-Straw, Blue Springs, MO; father Mr. Ralph Ecxford Sr., Waukegan, IL; grandmother Mrs. Bernadette Johnson, Mexico, MO; bonus children Luressa Hollis Sheppard, FL; Wes Shack and Alexandria Shack, both of Gadsden, AL; grandchildren Karmen Straw, Kaylee’ann Straw, Kaityln Straw, D’Angelo Straw all of Blue Springs, MO; Darien Hollis, Alexis Wyatt, Zaryiah Sheppard, Zaryiah Shack and Zakorien Shack all of Gadsden, AL; siblings Eva Ecxford, Gurnee, IL; Lois (Oscar) Williams, Mexico, MO; Stephanie (Harold) Merriweather, Gastonia, NC; Edward “Eugene” (Beth) Ecxford, Zion, IL; Polly (Victor) Rosser, Waukegan, IL; Cynthia (Willie) Webb, Waukegan, IL; aunts Wanda Johnson Clark, Mexico, MO; Betty Williams, TX; Elizabeth Wilkes, CA; Ida Johnson Galbreath, Atlanta, GA; uncles Elmer (Teresa) Johnson, Mexico, MO; George Johnson, Milwaukie, WI; brothers-in-law Ned (Judy) Carlisle, Covington, GA; David Carlisle, Griffin, GA; Steve Porter, Gadsden, AL; sister-in-law Jackie Carlisle, College Park, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Funeral Services will be Friday, at 11 am October 30, 2020 at Abundant Life Church Public visitation: Friday, 9am-11am at Abundant Life Church
