Augusta, Georgia-Dr. Yvonne J. Shaw entered into rest Friday, October 23, 2020 at University Hospital-Summerville.

Graveside services will be held Friday, October 30, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Westover Memorial Park, 2601 Wheeler Road, Augusta, Reverend Augustus Hall, eulogist.

Public viewing will be Thursday, October 29, 2020 from 1:00 - 6:00 at the mortuary.

Dr. Yvonne J. Shaw the beloved wife of the late Dr. Arthur H. Shaw entered into rest on Friday, October 23, 2020 at University Hospital, Summerville. She retired from the Richmond County public school system after 33 years and went to work at Paine College, where she served as Chair of the Division of Education and Teacher Education. After leaving Paine College, Dr. Shaw continued her endeavors as a full-time motivational speaker, workshop and seminar presenter.

Dr. Shaw held membership in numerous organizations and has received numerous awards and commendations. She was a member of Bethel A.M.E. church where she served as secretary of the Trustees, a member of the Chancel Choir and past president.

Survivors include two daughters, Tara Burns and KiKi Shaw, Laurel, Maryland. Seven grandchildren, Four great- grandchildren and a host of friends.
