~OBITUARY~

"OLD SOLDIERS NEVER DIE, THEY JUST FADE AWAY"

Hullie Carrol Cohen, Sr., born 70 years and 6 months ago, on April 22, 1950 in Allendale County, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Mr. Moses Levi Cohen, Sr., and the late Mrs. Cornelia Coath Cohen. Hullie was a resident of the Fairfax Municipal Township where he grew - up as a child.

Hullie obeyed the gospel, at an early age and became a member of Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church where he was active in the Service of the Lord. He worked faithfully and cheerfully with the Missionary Ministry Cooking Committee. Hullie was a graduate of Fairfax Training School, Fairfax, South Carolina.

He was joined in holy matrimony to the former Estella Johnson, and God blessed this union with two children.

A veteran of the United States Air Force, Hullie received an Honorable Discharge after serving his Country for six years. He retired as Commander from the South Carolina Army National Guard - 266th Quartermaster Detachment (Water Purification) Allendale, South Carolina, after 30 years of loyal service.

Hullie was predeceased by his parents, (1) Sister: Mammie Cohen; and (1) Brother: Terry Timothy Cohen, Sr.

On Saturday, October 24, 2020, at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center, Augusta, GA, he quietly moved into his last great adventure.

Mourning his loss, yet rejoicing his life's legacy are his loving and devoted wife of 49 years, Estella (Johnson) Cohen, of the home; (1) Son: Hullie Carroll Cohen, Jr., San Diego, CA; (1) Daughter: Nicole Vongelia Cohen - (Paul) McVeigh; Charlotte, NC; (1) Granddaughter reared in the home: Alexis Ott; Clemson, SC; The blessing continued with (7) Grandchildren and (4) Great-Grandchildren; (8) Sisters: Jeroldine Finch, Elouise Cohen, Sharon Smith, Sabrina Busbee, and Cartenia Jamison; all of Fairfax, SC; Mozelle Priester; Orangeburg, SC; Marilyn Collins and Patricia (Reverend James) Cleveland; Forth Worth, TX; (1) Brother: Moses (Estella C.) Cohen; Fairfax, SC; Special Cousin: Ferdie Redd; Fairfax, SC; (5) Sisters-In-Law: Yvonne Cohen; Fairfax, SC; Gloria Jenkins; Arlington, TX; Madre (Lawrence) Claiborne; Chesapeake, VA; Sina Mikell; Augusta, GA; Yvonne Miller; Hampton, SC; and Mary Brooker Williams; Brunson, SC; (2) Brothers-In-Law: Jasper Hankerson; Monroe, NC; and Lawrence Claiborne; Chesapeake, VA. Special friend: Charles Bellinger; Fairfax, SC. A host of loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and loving friends.
