Obituary For Alice Jackson

Mrs. Alice King Jackson, 94

On Wednesday, October 21, 2020, Alice King Jackson, a loving and caring sister, and mother of eight children beautifully passed away at the age of 94.

Alice was born on September 17, 1926 in Baker County-Newton, GA. to the union of Alice (Lyons) and Charlie King. She had ten siblings all of whom preceded her in death with the exception of one brother, Lenwood King. She was married to DK Grissom and later married Willie Fred Jackson, Sr. both preceded her in death.

Her occupational career was a beautician and caregiver in Camilla, GA where she lived for over 70 years. She “loved” the Lord and served Him daily. Her love for family was genuine and undeniable.

She was a member of Courtland Avenue Church of Christ in Quitman, GA, simply known to all as “Mother Jackson,” where she served faithfully until her health failed to Alzheimer’s disease.

Two children preceded her in death (Willie Fred Jackson, Jr. and Carolyn Sue Powers).

She leaves to cherish her life and rewarding memories to three daughters: Arridean (Willie Jackson), Quitman, GA, Alice (Gary Harvey), Savannah, GA and Myrtice (Anthony Robinson), Orlando, FL; three sons: Joe Nathan Grissom (Yolanda), Baltimore, MD, Nathaniel Grissom- Atlanta, GA and Tony Jackson (Tonya), Atlanta, GA and a host of grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Private services will be Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Oakview Cemetery in Camilla, GA with Brother Rozell Orr officiating. A livestream of the home going service will be available on this website and condolences may be shared. Continue to keep the family in your daily thoughts and prayers.
