I will always have fond memories of spending time in my youth with my godmother, Ms. Pearl. She became my godmother many years ago at Tabernacle when The Reverend Bryant was the pastor. She always took me on outings to go shopping downtown or to the movies at the Grand Theater. Sometimes she would even bring along another friend (Penny) to share in the fun. She was always dressed fashionably. I returned to Florida a few years ago and reconnected with her. I'm glad we had that time together before returning to DC. She will be surely missed. I offer my most sincere condolences to her family. Rest in peace dear Godmother. With love, Gail Woods-Pinder

Ms. Pearl was the cornerstone of our neighborhood. Nothing would get passed her on 2nd Street without her knowing. She was there for our families through all the trials and triumphs. I will miss our great conversations and all the laughter we shared. The corner will be dark without the beautiful Christmas lights and displays, but I know you will light up heaven. We thank God for allowing you to be a part of our lives and extended family . We love and will miss you deeply!! DeeDe, Melvin and Family.

While growing up, Ms. P was like a second mother to me & my siblings. She & her deceased husband (Johnnie Al) were best friends to our parents (Roscoe & Lois). Ms. P. trained all our kids thru the usher board as well as all the Tabernacle kids. She was a part of the family and we will truly miss her fussing because we knew it was her way of showing love. Missing your spirit Ms. P and love you always! Tony & Maxine Young

Pearl Lassiter. One of my many great blessings from God was having Ms. P as my friend. She was always truthful, honest, funny, loyal and very dedicated. Always very supportive of all my efforts and saw the humor in everything we did and made our times together fun. I will miss her dearly and forever. All my prayers, love, and sympathy go out to her family. Rest in peace, my friend. Lois Williams

My thoughts and prayers are with the family! Ms P, as we used to call her at Tabernacle, was our feisty, hilariously funny, sweetheart. Everyone knew her favorite food was bacon and grits. Even when she was in the hospital, my last conversation with her, she wanted me to get her some bacon and grits! She was a friend for life. She would always tell you what was on her mind! We will miss her and remember all the good times - there were never any bad times with Ms P. We honor you and love you Ms P. I will see you on the other side! Rest in eternal peace. Maxine Cheesman

Meeting Mrs. Pearl Lassiter was one of the highlights of my membership at Tabernacle. She was dedicated to her church and loved working with the youth usher board , the garden and outreach ministry. We all loved her humor and her honesty. She told you like it was and will be missed . RIP, Mrs. P as we fondly caller her as a servant of God. Warmest Regards, Sandra Close Turnquest

I'm so glad that God saw fit to allow my path to cross with P's. She was a warm hearted person who spoke her mind when it was needed but always showed love. I will miss seeing her and hearing her voice. We loved you Pearl but God loves you more. Rest on now. To the family may God offer you comfort in your time of sorrow.
