Obituary For Joseph (Joe) Chatman, Jr.

Celebration of Life in loving memory of Mr. Joseph Chatman Jr. will be held Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Greater Mt. Moriah Primitive Baptist Church, 1225 N. Nebraska Ave., Tampa, 33602, Dr. B.R. Fulton, Pastor with Elder Joseph Chatman III, eulogist.

Joseph was born in Wilmington, North Carolina on September 21, 1944 to parents being the late Mr. Joseph and Mrs. Lucille Chatman who embossed Joseph to be the man we will forever remember. Joseph (Joe) was a very loving and devoting husband to his beautiful wife Rosetta Chatman for thirty-four years. Together they created memories that could only be shared while living life to the fullest. Joseph’s’ big heavy hands helped him craft his skill as a bricklayer for 54 years. He loved his skill and left his mark all across the U.S, but he didn’t love anything more than his Family. On Tuesday, October 20, 2020 he entered his eternal rest.

He was preceded in death by his children Ricky, Walter, and Reginald.

He leaves to cherish loving and lasting memories, his wife, Rosetta Chatman, his children, Alfred (Charlotte), Robert, Tina, Tawanda, Ray, Tameka, Joseph III (Rivell), Jasmine (Steven), Joey (Tyzsa), Joenetha “Juicy”, Jalisa, Latonya (Tomenual), April, Sheritta, Carla, and Danielle (Adrian); Sisters, Lillian Allen (Wayne), Carolyn Sanders (Charles), Sylvia Maxwell, Barbara Ann Garland and Doris Cromartie; Sister in Laws, Joyce (Joe) and Linda; Brother in Laws, Alvin (Jenette), Jerome (Cheryl) and Leroy and a greater host of grandchildren, great grands and great great grands. He was truly loved by great friends such as Mr. Willie, Sprat, Earl Hightower, David, Hyman, Smitty, Freddie, Larry and God son Harrell and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
