My brother Eld. Deago, my best-friend sister Karen, my God-daughter Diara and sweet Kayla (Bridget, Darlene, Sand, Steve, Greg, Wesley & Bianca), there are not enough words for me to describe how sorrowful I am right now. I consider myself a part of the family. I love you all so much and wish I could take this pain away as it is very familiar. I have many fond memories of traveling with Alva and Darlene to Convocation and working with her in Gastonia. She made me feel at home from day one when I got out of college. She was so spiritual and funny. I will forever miss her strong voice and all-around persona. I know in my heart, "to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord". I know Alva is rejoicing in her good works!!! I love you always my family and I am praying with you continually. Michael and Tonya (Scott) Baptist, Jr.
