Obituary For William Brent

Funeral services will be Thursday, November 5, 2020 at 11:00 a.m., Mississippi Veteran Cemetery, 248 Honor Circle, Newton, MS 39845.

William Brent was born to the proud parents, Walter Brent and Mary Terry on July 21, 1921, who preceded him in death. William Brent confessed his belief in Christ at an early age at Mt. Way Baptist Church. He attended Utica High School, later drafted into the United States Army from 1943-1945 as a Private, and then moved to Chicago and met Mary Morrison. To this union, four children were born. William was preceded in death by one sister, Justine Hattison and one brother, Author Ward. On October 24, 2020, at the VA Hospital in Jackson, MS, the Angels of God descended from Heaven to carry “William” home to rest. He was blessed with 99 vibrant years. His memories will be shared by three daughters: Sharron Brent of Utica, MS; Shirley Brent and Catherine Brent of Chicago, IL; one son, William Brent, Jr. of Chicago, IL; two sisters: Bessie Beard of Flint, MI and Mary Terry of Chicago, IL; two goddaughters: Drue Fields of Chicago, IL and Amina Palmer of Utica, MS; a helping friend, Hector Fields, Jr. of Jackson, MS. A host of nieces, nephews, family members, friends and special thanks to Zillar Dixon and family, Hunter PT, Brooks OT and nurse Tijuana Anderson.
