Obituary For Rufus Huewitt
The Obituary
Rufus Huewitt was born in Jasper, FL on April 9, 1957 to the late Roosevelt and Emma Lue Huewitt. Rufus was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Huewitt.
Rufus lived in Morven, Georgia most of his life. He graduated from Brooks County High School. He also served in the United States Army. Throughout his life, he worked different jobs until his health failed him. Rufus was also a member at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Morven, Georgia.
Rufus is survived by his daughter, Tashayla Thompkins-Huewitt; his grandchildren, Jonai Thompkins, Joshua Thompkins and a grandchild on the way; his siblings, Roosevelt Sr. (Christine) Huewitt, Magnolia Bailey, Barbara (Frank) Smallwood, Bobby (Jeanie) Huewitt, Sophia Scott, Earnest Huewitt, Emma (Timothy) Reynolds, Linda (LeRoy) Jones, Angela (James Sr.) Holmes and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 3PM. A livestream will be available via this website and our Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home Facebook page. Continue to keep the Huewitt Family in your daily thoughts and prayers.
