Obituary For Mrs. Rubie Walker Fowler

In profound sorrow we announce the passing of Mrs. Rubie Walker Fowler. Celebration of Life will be Friday, November 6, 2020 11:00 at Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, November 5, 2020 3:00pm-7:00pm at Grissom-Clark Eastlake Chapel.

Rubie Mae Fowler was born to Louise Walker on June 10, 1932 at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, GA. She attended David T. Howard High School. At an early age she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ while attending Mount Zion Baptist Church where she was baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit. Later she joined Community Baptist Church where she was a highly active member. She worked on various organizations which she served with gladness; many times, she would team up with others planning activities and trips for the youth. In 1996, she became a caretaker as a profession because taking care of others was one of her passions. She was well known for helping others in the community; she will be always be remembered for her love and kindness shown over the many years. Cooking was another one of her passions in which she spread love to her family and friends. Rubie was preceded in death by her mother Louise Walker; son, Calvin I. Fowler; two sisters, Mrs. Gloria Gates and Ms. Elouise Brown. Rubie leaves to cherish her memories three sons; Henry L. Walker (Gennette), Johnny L. Walker and Charles W. Fowler (Stephaine); daughter, Catherine F. Denson; goddaughter, Brenda Malik; one brother, Raymond Brown; nine grandchildren; great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; niece; nephew; and a host of other relatives and friends.
