Obituary For Bethenia Graham

The Governor of South Carolina advises to limit public gatherings to 50 guests or less to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Private Funeral services for Bethenia Brock Summerville Graham will be conducted 12:30 PM Saturday, October 31, 2020 at J.O and Annette Smith Memorial Chapel, 307 S. John's St, Florence. Interment will follow at Bethesda Baptist Church, 6756 US-52, Society Hill, SC directed by Smith Funeral Home of Florence, LLC.

Bethenia Brock Summerville Graham daughter of the late Andrew Carnegie Douglas Sr. and Helen Brock Summerville was born August 31, 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland. She passed away into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 28, 2020.

As a young woman Bethenia was joined in holy matrimony with Joseph Graham Jr. and relocated to New York City where they raised their five children. Raising her children was a gift to her never turning away people in need. She had an open-door policy for everyone. Bethenia’s personality encouraged her to pursue a career as a Mental Health Therapist.

In 1996 Bethenia relocated back to Society Hill South Carolina and started working at Camp Sandhill with At Risk Youth. Bethenia enjoyed traveling, exploring the world and eating exotic foods. She had an unforgettable presence and wisdom to share with all that knew her. She was a spiritual woman and attended church regularly.

She was preceded in death by three Children, Carolyn E. Graham; Antonio Graham; Toure Graham.

Bethenia leaves to cherish her memories: two Daughters, Debi Mitchell Robert; Yanestra Graham- Motley; one Son, Leslie E Graham; Three Godson, Darren Sullivan; Sean Meenan; Morris Bourbor; one son- in- law, Steve Robert; one Daughter – in – law, Natalie Graham; fifteen grandchildren; Antionette King, Joe King, Naytasha Graham, Carolyn Graham, Cythnia Adams, Sonny Adams, Shaniya Graham, Lavine Goodwin, Kenneth Graham, Toure Graham Jr., Antwon Simmons, Jariel Tate, Jordan Graham; and fourteen great grandchildren; four sisters, Barbara Douglas, Juanita Douglas, Diasy Sturdivent, Bessie Eason, and three brothers; one Uncle Ernest Douglas and one Aunt Bessie Douglas and a host of niece; nephews; other relatives and friends.
