Public Viewing will be held Friday 11-7PM (family will greet family and friends from 6-7pm)

Sweet Georgia peach. A sweet songbird. And most of all, a sweet, sweet spirit, now resting in the arms of our Lord. Affectionately known as Mary Alice or Ms. Walton to many, to us she was simply Mama. As a mother and grandmother, she was second to none. The eldest daughter of Ella Beasley and John R Johnson Sr, Mary Alice attended E.R. Carter Elementary School. Upon graduating from Washington High School, Mary Alice Walton attended the historically black Morris Brown College majoring in Early Childhood Education. As a result of much dedication, to her studies, Mary Alice successfully utilized her BA degree to have a very rewarding career as an elementary school teacher with Atlanta Public Schools lasting 42 years until she retired in 1992. In addition to being an exceptional educator, Mary Alice was most fond of her affiliation with the Divine Nine sorority--Zeta Phi Beta, serving as an active member in good standing for all of her life. Mary Alice was known for her glorious soprano voice and one would marvel at the awesome power of God manifested in our mother's voice. Mary Alice Walton, joined Beulah Baptist Church while in elementary school, under the pastoral leadership of Rev. A.G. Davis. She has served is one of the most faithful and dedicated members of the church, making significant contributions to many of the church ministries which include the Trustee ministry, the courtesy ministry, the Beulah choral choir, the Platinum Club (Centennial building fund), the Atlanta stadium ministry and the Youth and adult Ceramic ministry.
