Obituary For Mr. Walter Lee Turman Jr.

Mr. Walter Lee Turman , Jr. was born at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, GA on May 29, 1979 to the proud parents of Mrs. Mabeleen Robinson Turman and Mr. Walter Lee Turman, Sr. Walter joined the Shiloh Baptist Church at an early age. During his teen years, he attended Mt. Venus Baptist Church. He attended McCray Elementary School and graduated from Greenville High School During his high school years, Walter was a member of the Spiritual Travelers Gospel Group. He enjoyed singing and praising God. After high school, he attended Gordon College and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene where he met his future wife, Ms. Katrina Johnson. He later attended Georgia State College where he graduated with a Master’s degree in Social Work. On June 3, 2006, Walter and Katrina were joined in Holy Matrimony. Walter was a loving and devoted family man. He loved his wife and was devoted to his children. He always put his family first. Walter and Katrina later joined the Friendship Community Church in College Park, GA. He also enjoyed attending Divine Faith Ministry. He always enjoyed worshipping and praising God. Walter enjoyed helping and caring for others. He enjoyed mentoring young men to be the best they could be and to believe in themselves. Walter possessed a loving spirit. He was never angry and always had a smile that would brighten up any room. He was always lifting someone up with a song to go with his wonderful personality. One noticeable character of Walter was his warm hugs. He always showered others with kindness. Walter was a great cook and loves showing off his masterpieces of food. He enjoyed shopping and always treated himself with a new watch, cologne, a new suit, and dress shoes. He enjoyed getting GQ hair cut form his brother, Deon. Walter was preceded in death by his sister, Tomekia Turman; aunts, Alice “Dot” Bolton and Essie Robinson; his uncles, Willie “Bo” Robinson and Jeff Turman; and his grandparents. Walter departed this life on Sunday, November 1, 2020. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Katrina Turman; three children, Gordon, Kaleb and Makinley Turman all of Jonesboro, GA; mother and father, Mrs. Mabeleen Turman and Mr. Walter Lee Turman, Sr. both of Atlanta, GA; one brother, Mr. Marcus Deon (Shiquita) Turman of Jonesboro, GA; father and mother-in-law, Mr. Charles (Mary) Johnson of Jonesboro, GA; aunt, Ms. Lucinda Robinson of Gay, GA; uncles, Mr. Bobby Turman of Sharpsburg, GA and Mr. Horace Turman of Franklin, GA; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Cassandra Wright and one brother-in-law, Minister Aaron Wright both of Covington, GA; a host of cousins, other family and many friends who will miss him dearly.

Graveside Services were held Saturday, November 7, 2020 Shiloh Church Cemetery 4374 Alvation Road Alvation, GA. 30218
