She was a 1964 graduate of Camp High where she graduated with honors. Ms. Ruby went on to continue her education at Wake Forest University where she obtained her L.P.N. degree. She worked as a traveling nurse for years in the state of VA, mainly on the pediatric floor. Ruby a.k.a. “Aunt Pete” loved her family, music and cooking and was best known for her homemade chicken and dumplings and egg custards.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Thressa Louise Foster; her sisters, Louise Huskey, Dorothy Roseboro and Kay Meeks and a nephew, Dwayne Huskey.
She leaves to cherish her memory to her children, Tony Foster (Lucila) of Hopewell, VA and her daughter, Angela Alexander (Anthony) of Charlotte, NC; her grandchildren, Brittany Lawrence, Terry “T.J.” Wallace and Isaiah Foster; one great-granddaughter, Briley Farrar; two brothers, James Roseboro (Johanna) of Wichita, KS and Sam Roseboro of Blacksburg, SC; nieces and nephews raised like her own, Frankie, Jackie, Louisea, Chris, Ernie and Rhonda Wright; special cousin, Louvenia Hopper; special friends, Eva Coleman and Janie Wilson along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Ms. Foster will be private. She may be viewed at S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel on Friday, November 20 , 2020 from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery.
