Henry "Rabbit" Lee Burnett

Henry Lee Burnett “Rabbit”, 72, of Harrisburg, transitioned into eternal life on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at The Gardens @ West Shore. He was born in Steelton, son of the late Richard Burnett and Mary Hankerson, a graduate of the former William Penn High School, a U. S. Air Force Veteran and served in the Vietnam War, a former employee of the former New Cumberland Army Depot and Labor Ready until his health deteriorated. Rabbit, as he was affectionately called, was a Baltimore Ravens Fan and in his leisure, he loved to dance, dress in different color suits with matching hats and gators, watch the Ravens’ games, listen to music, make people laugh and spend time with his family. He was the widower of Mary Burnett and leaves to celebrate his life, his children, Charlean Irvin (Donielle), Kinta Burnett, Leander Battle (Joy), Yolanda Artis (Melvin); his stepmother, Betty Burnett; his sisters, Michele Washington (Thomas), Barbara Chism (Lonnie), Kimberly Davenport (Raymond), Michelle Burnett and Pastor Cynthia Summers (Michael); his brothers, Ronald “Ronnie” Hankerson (Cheryl), Anthony Hankerson, Jackie Spriggs, Corrie Burnett (Christal) and Richard Burnett (Toni); two special aunts, Juanita Burke and Pauline Hankerson; his special nephew, Robert “Pint” Tate; his seven grandchildren; two great grandsons; two special friends, Mary and Nate and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Henry’s life will be celebrated in the Chapel of Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, 704 N. Front St., Steelton, 10:00 A.M. on Friday, November 13 with viewing from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. and burial in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
