Obituary For Georgia Mae Hill

The funeral services for the late Mrs. Georgia Mae Hill of 700 Ashton Circle, Apt. 715, Ashburn, Georgia, who departed this life on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Pruitt Healthcare in Ashburn, Georgia, will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. from the Westview Memorial Cemetery in Ashburn, Georgia. Words of Comfort will be given by Reverend Jerry Lewis.

Mrs. Georgia Mae Wright Hill was born on September 18, 1934 in Bibb County, Georgia to the late Mr. Jack Wright, Sr. and the late Ms. Ida Bell Slappey.

Georgia Mae was a 1953 graduate of Eureka High School in Ashburn, Georgia. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Ashburn, Georgia in the late 1940’s. In the mid 1970’s, Georgia moved her church membership to Bethlehem Baptist Church in Ashburn, Georgia. She served faithfully on the Usher Board at Bethlehem Baptist for many years.

On December 24, 1955, Georgia was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Mr. Willie C. Hill. Georgia was a devoted mother of six children and always wanted the very best for each of them.

On Thursday, November 12, 2020, Georgia slipped away quietly to join her eternal master. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ms. Melinda F. Hill, a son, Mr. Royce C. Hill, and a sibling, Mr. Jack Wright, Jr.

Georgia leaves cherished memories to her children, Mrs. Gloria Martin of Ashburn, Georgia, Mrs. Veverly D. (Johnny) Bell of Sycamore, Georgia, Mrs. Gwendolyn E. Gordon of TyTy, Georgia, Mr. Robert E. Hillmon of Clinton, Maryland, Mr. Ray A. (Lorenda) Hill of Ashburn, Georgia; three siblings, Mrs. Betty Jean Pitts of Tifton, Georgia, Mrs. Betty Lou Peoples of Macon, Georgia, and Mrs. Doris Shaw of Ocala, Florida; thirteen grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; her last living beloved aunt, Mrs. Wilda Cleveland; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
