Ms. Mattie Ruth Bell was born in Ashville, Alabama on May 20, 1938 to the late Ester and Reba Jones.

Ms. Bell was baptized at an early age and received the gift of the Holy Ghost and joined Overcoming Church in Ashville, Alabama. She later joined Empowerment Temple in Gadsden, Alabama under the leadership of the late Elder Harvey Bell Jr.

She departed this life on November 13, 2020. Ms. Bell was preceded in death by her husband Mr. Harvey Bell Sr.; sons, Mr. Harvey Bell Jr and Mr. John Greer Jr; parents, Mr. Ester Jones Sr. and Mrs. Reba Jones; sisters, Ms. Frankie Mae Blount, Mrs. Willie Mae Bothwell and Mrs. Maggie Williams; brothers, Mr. Ester Jones Jr. and Mr. Howard Lee Woods Sr.

Ms. Bell is survived by her loving daughters; Ms. Elaine Greer, Ms. Kristie Bell and Mrs. Mae (Cleo, Carol) Gillispie: stepdaughters; Ms Verna Bell and Mrs. Lisa (Tim) Vandergrift. eight grandchildren, Terrence (Mannasseh) Greer, Jamal (Dakaesha) Greer, Derrik (Dominique) Bell, Miranda (Trey) Greer, Ahmad Bell, Sincere Baker, Alija Bell, and Britney Cole. Two sisters, Mrs. Eloise (Johnny) Ford and Mrs. Ruby (Percy) Davis; six brothers, Mr. Lester Woods, Mr. John Jones, Mr. Fred (Dorothy) Jones, Mr. Benny Jones, Rev. Ed (Lavada) Jones and Mr. Barry (Darlene) Bell; 12 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren, one aunt, Ms. Mattie Bell Williams, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends Special thanks to caregivers. Viewing will be on Monday, November,16,2020 12-6P.M. in the chapel of West Gadsden funeral home

Funeral Services will be 12 Noon Tuesday, November 17,2020 at the Overcoming Church of our lord jesus christ with burial in the ashville cemetery
