Obituary For Johnny Lee Goodman, Sr.

Funeral services for the late Mr. Johnny Lee Goodman, Sr. of Ashburn, Georgia, who departed this life on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia, will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. from the Westivew Memorial Cemetery in Ashburn, Georgia. Words of Comfort will be given by Pastor Rosa Sanford. Services may be viewed Facebook Live from the Shipp's Funeral Home Facebook page.

Mr. Johnny Lee Goodman, Sr. was born on May 8, 1956 in Crisp County, Georgia to the late Mr. John Rhine and the late Ms. Leonna Goodman.

Johnny worked as a farmer with Greg Brown Farms, Incorporated.

On April 24, 1979 Johnny was united in Holy Matrimony to Ms. Velma Wilson. This union was blessed with six children.

Johnny gave his life to Christ and joined the Mount Zion Church of God Apostolic in Ashburn, Georgia in 1990. He faithfully served a a member of the Usher Board and the Choir.

Our loved one heard the Master's Call to come and take his rest on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Tift Regional Medical Center. Family and friends were deeply saddened to learn of his passing.

Johnny leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife, Minister Velma Goodman; his children Veronnie (Willie), Veronica, Jonathan (Jessica), Minister Johnny, Jr. (Desherika), Michael (Dora), Henry (Gailire); twenty-seven grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren; a special grandson, Quentagus Wilson; sisters, Mae Lee (Roy) Hampton, Francis Webb; brother, Jessie Lee Goodman; sisters-in-law, Deborah Lane, Cindy Frager, Reggie Ann Johnson; brother-in-law, Edward (Kay) Jackson; uncle Russell (Kelly) Goodman; a close friend, Bro. Curtis Norris; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
