It is a joy to9 virtually celebrate the life, love, and legacy of Leroy. I remember the call the day after meeting my Delaware homegirl, Audrey, "Pam, I met the woman I am going to marry." I remain so grateful for his time and investment in Lil' Ronnie over 40 years ago. To God be the glory for his life and his impact on the lives of others. We know when Leroy closed his eyes for the last time, he opened them in the presence of the Lord. He is already embraced by the Shockleys, the Wimberlys, and a host of heavenly believers in Jesus Christ. With gratitude and appreciation, Mike and Pamela Jones

Leroy was a part of our family through marriage. My brother Maurice married Leroy's daughter, Shawna, and the rest is history. We were blessed with a few opportunities to spend the holidays together as one big family. Leroy accomplished a lot in his life but his proudest accomplishment was his family. The fond memories and legacy that he leaves behind for his family will last a lifetime. Being a devoted husband and father speaks volumes about his character. Leroy will be sorely missed by his family and friends. Rest In Peace Leroy! Love, Harmon Family

Leroy was one of the first friendly faces we met when we moved into our neighborhood. He saw my husband, Keng out mowing the lawn and immediately walked over in his smiling and welcoming manner. From then on, we became not only neighbors but friends. We will dearly miss Leroy and his smiles and cheerful conversations. Rest in peace dear friend and neighbor; our culdesac will never be the same without you. - Ling and Keng He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." From the moment I met Mr. Reshard I knew he was a man of strong values, integrity and loving the people around him and building his community. Coming from strong men in my own family I felt an instant bond with him and would soak up some knowledge from him every chance that I was able too. Every interaction with Mr. Reshard always started with a big smile from him, enthusiasm and a lot of "can do". I love being around a person that lives their life through love and laughter and I can truly say that was my experience with Mr. Reshard. From my family to the Reshard family we love you all and our prayers of strength are with you all and we are here for any and all needs of any kind of support. Love Roderick & Kelsey Ellis

It's many years since I last saw or spoke with Uncle Leroy . However he stayed in close contact with his siblings including my father, James. So, my memories of Uncle Leroy are both direct memories I have of my interactions with him and the relationship of brothers seen through my father's eyes. My earliest memories of Uncle Leroy date back to his bachelor days. He was my dad's cool younger brother. He was easy to smile, laugh and had so much charisma. He had a gift of making you feel special, that he wanted to know how you were and what you've been up to. Through the years my father would keep the family up to date with what was going on with Uncle Leroy especially with major life milestones such as moves around the country, jobs, marriage and his girls. As I grew older and had opportunities to speak with him, Uncle Leroy would have sage advice on whatever was relevant to current life stages at the time. My father was proud of his brother in what he accomplished in life, the family man that he was. As brothers they supported, encouraged each other and shared confidences as brothers do. I mourn for what my father has lost but especially for Aunt Audrey, cousins Shawna and Phylicia, son-in law Maurice and grandchildren Maurice Jr. and Sterling. RIP, Uncle Leroy Angela Reshard-Player

"Memory is the treasury and guardian of all things" - Cicero Long will we remember Leroy and the experiences we shared in the over 50 years we have known him. From happy go lucky bachelors to married men and from miles across the country, we maintained a special bond. I will remember how he loved music, dancing and engaging in great conversation and we will always love and respect the proud Black man he was to his wife, his children, his grandchildren and all he encountered. We feel blessed to have known him. We wish we had more time together. Gerald & Wilma Tootle

I met Mr. Reshard when I was in high school with his daughter, my good friend Shawna Reshard Harmon. He took me out for breakfast and invited me into his home. He became a major influence in my life. I remember him showing me his amazing music collection of vinyl records, we listened to Donny Hathaway and some jazz artists. I will never forget those moments and certainly the moments when he did the "James Brown" dance. I didn't have too many male role models in my life, but Mr. Reshard was one of the few. His role as a husband and father inspired me. His words of wisdom and encouragement lifted me. His presence was a blessing and God needed him. The family must understand that he is happy and no longer suffering in God's presence and he wants you all to be comforted. God will heal and allow you to move on. He will always be remembered as a great man who impacted many. I love him and his family. Christopher Pendergrass Maryland

I first met Leroy in March 1976 in Los Angeles, CA. I was a new salesman for 3M and was sent to train under Leroy in sunny Southern California. What a thrill for me and what a great trainer he was. We had so many good memories together at our National Sales meetings that were held all over the country. Over the years we reflected on many good times together at 3M and his subsequent career after 3M. We spoke last just a couple months ago and I had no idea the cancer had continued its spread. My wife was a urology nurse and was hoping for his recovery and continuation of a life well-lived. I look forward to seeing Leroy once again and continuing our remembrances when that day comes. All the best to Audrey and family. You will always be in our prayers. Gary & Laura Smith, Woodbury, MN.

I met Mr. Leroy at Lincoln Heights Elementary volunteering with the Heroes Read Program helping encourage young children to be inspired and enjoy reading. He had a gentle, warm spirit and always had a smile on his face. The young children loved reading with him. As neighbors in West Chester, Ohio, we shared many meals and neighborhood events. The respect that our neighbors had for him was evident. He was learned, yet warm. Proud, yet a fun loving man who valued and loved his 3 girls- Audrey, Shawna and Phylicia. - Mary LeRoy let his hair down with me. I just remember great talks about life families and our wives and just sprinkle in James Brown, Motown, barbecue, and Mr. Jack Daniels which left us both with some great times. LeRoy I just had some Jack and it was for great times. Your are in the bosom of God and in a much better place. You made a mark on my life. - Al Rest In Peace our friend. - Al and Mary McCurdy

When I heard this news yesterday I immediately visualize Leroy smiling as he talked about his lovely wife, beautiful daughters, grandchildren and family. He loves you all so dearly and when he and I spoke it was family always first. I then immediately thought of his childhood growing up in a large family in the panhandle of Florida and how he loved epithet events of his formative years. His groundbreaking career at 3M and his passion for helping others. See Leroy and I met over ten years ago and immediately bonded with a respected friendship. I heard stories of his daughter in Med school and his gymnast at the University of KY. Living in Lexington I got to follow her career and frequently talked to Leroy about both of them and his lovely wife. I will miss my friend but will always remember him fondly. His most endearing quality was his smile. He loved his faith, his family and his fellowship. And I for one, am a better person simply for knowing Leroy. Godspeed my friend. You were a gift from God, that's for sure and I'm grateful for knowing you.
