Obituary For Bobby Delaney Martin

Bobby Martin, 65, of Ridgeway, VA, departed this life on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at VCU Medical Center, Richmond, VA. He was born in Martinsville, VA on February 15, 1955, the son of Charity Edwards Martin and the late Price Cornelius Martin.

Bobby was a 1973 graduate of George Washington Carver High School. He attended Bibleway Greater Assurance Ministries. He was a former trumpet player for the group the Untouchables.

Bobby leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Annie Brown Martin of Martinsville, VA; his mother, Charity Edwards Martin of Ridgeway, VA; one son, Bobby Helms of Fieldale, VA; five brothers, Larry (Pam) Martin of Richmond, VA, Dennis Martin, Bishop Randy (Daisy) Martin, and Derrick Martin all of Martinsville, VA, and Terry Martin of Stuart, VA; grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 1 p.m. at the Redd Family Cemetery, Ridgeway, VA, with Bishop Randy Martin, Eulogist. A visitation will be held on Friday, November 20, 2020 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., at the Bibleway Greater Assurance Ministries, 155 Moses Moore Drive, Bassett, VA. A public viewing will be held on Friday, November 20, 2020 at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 12 p.m. until 3 p.m. when the remains will be transported to the church. Other times, the family will be receiving friends at the home of his mother, Charity Martin, 753 Wagon Trail, Ridgeway, VA. In accordance with the CDC and the Governors mandate, a face covering and social distancing is required.
