Obituary For Darryle L. Martin

Darryle Martin, 61, of Robinhood Dr., Danville, VA, departed this life on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at SOVAH Health, Danville. He was born September 15,1959, in Martinsville, VA, the son of the late Alforince "PD" Martin and the late Pastor Gladys Martin Woodson.

Darryle was educated in the Pittsylvania County Public Schools and later served in the United States Army.

God blessed Darryle with great musical talents. The songs that he sang encouraged and inspired many people during his lifetime. He also enjoyed playing guitar and drums.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 22 years Mary of the home; one son, Antonio Day of Danville, VA; step-daughter, Janice Williams of Danville, VA; 12 grandchildren; one sister, Gladious B. Simmons and her husband Elder Bruce Simmons of Axton, VA; five brothers, Edward Martin and his wife Patricia of Statesville, NC, Alforince Odell Martin and wife Becky of Harrisonburg, PA, Garry Wayne Martin of Martinsville, VA, Charlie R. Martin, and wife Nancy, and Richard Coles and wife Jacqueline both of Connecticut; one sister-in-law, Katie Ferrell of Danville, VA; three brother-in-laws, James Farmer and Orlando Farmer both of Danville, VA, and James Wiles of Philadelphia, PA; two uncles; two aunts; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Danville Memorial Gardens with Elder Marvin Slade, Eulogist. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 20, 2020 from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home. Public viewing will be Friday, November 20, 2020 from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. The family will be receiving friends at the home, 2259 Robinhood Dr., Danville, VA. In accordance with the CDC, a face covering and social distancing will be required.
