Obituary For Cecil Buckner

Mr. Cecil Buckner, 90, of Elizabethtown, KY died on November 22, 2020 at Baptist Health Hardin.

Mr. Buckner was a native of Hardin County, KY and the son of the late Benjamin and Helen Buckner. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he served on the Board of Deacons, sang with the Male Chorus, Senior Choir, Mass Choir and was a founding member of the Golden Tones Quartet. Mr. Buckner was a retired employee of the Department of Transportation.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Craig Buckner and Benjamin Buckner; and his siblings, Omar Foche Buckner, Benjamin Buckner, Jr, Christine Buckner, James Louis Buckner, Carrie Buckner, Ana Mae Buckner, Herbert Buckner and Hortense Isom.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Buckner of Elizabethtown, KY; one son, Tony Buckner; two daughters, Stephanie Buckner and Cheryl Buckner all of Elizabethtown, KY; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one special nephew, Billy Frank Buckner (Hattie) of Elizabethtown, KY and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Saturday, November 28, 2020 at First Baptist Church in Elizabethtown, KY with Rev. William Curle officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Friday, November 27, 2020 also at First Baptist Church.

To the Buckner Family, I was so sorry to hear that Mr. Cecil passed. He always had love in his heart for his family, church and community. He definitely made an impression in my life for loving his family. He always loved volunteering so some events in our community. He was a Godly man with his involvement in First Baptize Church. He raised som amazing kids, and grandkids. He had a long life. My Mr. Cecil Rest In Peace in Heaven. Sending prayers to the whole family.
