I have known the Holland family since high school at Ft. Knox, and seeing them at our fathers' company picnics. I'll never forget when I saw Dorothy for the first time when she worked at the PX. I think she was behind a camera counter, and I thought she was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. I thought back then how lucky Sherry was that she would grow up to look like her mother. Dorothy, and the whole Holland family was so kind and welcoming when I would spend the night with Sherry on post. That kindness carried over every time I stopped by to visit through the 40 or so years I have known this loving family. Jack, Jackie, Sherry, Jimmie and extended family, you are all in my prayers. May God bless you with peace. Love, Dawn Daley

As a military family, we come in contact with many people as part of our travels and living. I was blessed to be meet the Hollands when my dad was stationed at Fort Knox. Her daughter, Sherry and I became good friends, college roommates and remain friends 'til this day. Jimmy and my brother also became lifelong friends. Mrs. Holland was a bonus mom that I will never forget. Her fondest memory is of my son at her granddaughter's birthday party one year. Autumn was very slow and precise opening her presents, mom son could not take it any more. He took a present to Autumn and stated: "a baby's gotta do what a baby's gotta do." He then helped Autumn to open those presents, a lot quicker. Mrs. Holland laughed so hard and recalls this story every year with a smile. I will miss her telling it. Love to the family.
