Augusta, Georgia—Mrs. Essie M. Clark Simon entered into rest Sunday, November 22, 2020 at Augusta University Medical Center.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, November 28, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Public viewing will be Friday, November 27, 2020 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. at the mortuary. Social distancing will be observed and mask are required.

Mrs. Essie Mae Simon was born September 30, 1929 in Augusta Georgia to the late Mr. Julian and Mrs. Lillie Clark Sr.

​Mrs. Simon attended Salis X. Floyd elementary in her younger years. Then she attended Haines Institute high school.

​Mrs. Simon was baptized at an early age at Macedonia Baptist Church. She loved to listen to the gospel music.

​Mrs. Simon was joined in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Daniel Simon for 56 wonderful years. Their marriage inspired many couples with timeless and unconditional love they had for each other.

​Mrs. Simon is preceded in death by her father Julian Clark Sr., mother, Lillie Clark, two brothers, Julian Clark Jr., and Laurelfrank Clark, sister-in-law, Eunis Williams and two brothers-in-law, Frank Simon Jr, and Willie Marion Simon.

She leaves to cherish her loving and devoted husband Mr. Daniel Simon; one son, Freddie Hyde Jr., and two daughters, Lillie Rosier and Vanessa Jones and four sisters-in-law, Dorothy Clark of Augusta, Mildred Wilks of Augusta, Carolyn Simon and Mary Bright of San Francisco, CA.

She has 10 grandchildren: Tara (Jerry) Green, Felicia (Khalid) Aziz, Robert Rosier Jr., Reginald (Sherita) Rosier, LaTasha (Anthony) Jones, Detrice (Shawn) Jones, David (Samantha) Hyde, Shenetta Sullivan, Fredcina Hyde, and Kaneshia (Malichi) Adams: 25 great-grandchildren: 3 great-great-grandchildren: and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
