Obituary For Henry Price

Mr. Henry Saay Price was born in Gaston County on February 1, 1957 to the late Henry and Julia Thompson Price. He transitioned from his earthly home on Saturday; November 21, 2020 at his residence.

Henry was a 1975 graduate of Ashbrook High School, Gastonia, NC and furthered his education at NC A&T University, Class of 1982, Greensboro, NC; receiving a Bachelor degree in Transportation Management.

He pledged Epsilon Upsilon Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. on June 2, 1984. He has served as Keeper of Peace, Chaplain, and part of the Intake team within the Fraternity. He has been recognized as Omega Man of the Year.

Henry was a member of Moloch Elks Lodge #468 where he has served as Exalted Ruler, Leading Knight, Lecturing Knight, Treasurer, Financial Secretary, Inner Guard, Trustee and as a member of the Past Grand Exalted Ruler Council. He has been honored as Past State President Council #3, Past Exalted Ruler Council #134 and Elk of the Year. Henry also served as the President of the Civil Liberties Department for the 8th District of North Carolina. He started the 1st motorcycle club for Molock Lodge #468.

Henry always keep busy, involved in his community and had a love for people. He was a member of the NAACP, Gaston County Organization for Community Concerns, Inc. and you would find him working in his garden.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Henry and Julia Thompson Price and his brother: Julius Price. Memories will be cherished by his children: Myia A. Price, Henry Saay Price, II, Jennifer N. Price and Calvin W. Carroll; special friend: Audrey W. Carroll; grandchild: Kyree Cashmere Price and a host of fraternity brothers, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Walk thru viewing at the funeral home on Friday from 4 until 8

Funeral: Saturday; November 28, 2020; 2:00 p.m.; Friendship Christian Church, Gastonia

Interment: Rose Hill Cemetery, Gastonia

Masks are required at all services; funeral will be live on Gregory Funeral Service facebook page; social distancing and attendance will be adhered to at the church with 50 attendants

I knew Henry from Jefferson Standard Country Club back in the 1980s when we worked together as waiters and buss persons to support our school expenses at A&T. I will always remember him for his kind heart.
