Obituary For Ms. Gail Marie Vaughns

Augusta, GA-Ms.Gail M. Vaughns, age 65 years, entered into rest on Sunday, November 22, 2020, at Select Specialty Hospital in Augusta, Georgia.

She was born on September 20, 1955, in Augusta, Georgia, the daughter of the late Jerry and Johnnie Mae Vaughns. Gail attended the Columbia County School System.

She accepted Christ at an early age where she sings in the choir and later became an active member of the Kitchen Committee at Clark Grove Baptist Church.

Gail later on went to pursue a career as a caregiver for over 30 years. She worked at Brooks Manor Inc. for over 20 years. Gail truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures: chatting with friends and family, cooking, and spending time worshipping the Lord.

She is survived by her daughter, Tara (Nathaniel) Vaughns; Augusta, Georgia, a son, Travis Vaughns; Lawton, Oklahoma, a sister, Geraldine (Maurice) Washington; Hyattsville, Maryland, a brother, Earnest (Janice) Vaughns; Augusta, Georgia, two aunts, Mertis Cummings and Josephine Harris; Augusta, Georgia, an uncle, Benny Harris; Lakeland, Florida, two grandsons, Da'Che Brown; Augusta, Georgia and Ahmahj Vaughns; Lawton, Oklahoma, four granddaughters, Keiosha Vaughns, and Aalajah Wilson; Augusta, Georgia, Jatavia Vaughns, and Jatoria Vaughns; Lawton, Oklahoma, a great-grandson, Ace Tanksley; Augusta, Georgia. Dedicated nieces Yolanda Williams, Roberta Middleton, Melissa Carter, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, December 5, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at Clark Grove Baptist Church, 3592 Evans to Locks Road, Martinez, Georgia with Pastor Marcella Glover officiating. *Social distancing will be observed and masks are required.

Public viewing will be Friday, December 4, 2020, from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at W. H. Mays Mortuary.
