Mrs. Maggie Butler

Maggie Lee Butler, 85, passed away Friday, November 27, 2020 at Hospice Home at High Point. She was born to the late Simmie Sr. and Mary Kate Bridges in Clio, SC on October 7, 1935. Maggie was preceded in death by two sons, John Wade Bridges and Ronnie Richard Streeter; three sisters, Dorothy Mae Cook, Emma Kate Fairly, Aggie Nora Pouncy; three brothers, Simmie Bridges Jr., John Bridges and Charles Bridges.

While growing up in Marlboro County she attended Marlboro High School where she was a part of the girls’ basketball team.

Maggie was employed at High Point Regional Hospital as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was known by many as a patient, kind hearted professional. She was appreciated for her work ethic and genuine care for her patients, and would later be recruited by Hospice where she would remain until retirement. She leaves to cherish her memory, husband, David B. Butler of the home; three sons, David L. Butler, Raymond T. (Cathy) Butler and Eddie L. (Naja) Butler all of NC; two sisters, Beulah Mae Brown of NC and Annie Louise Hayes of NY; nineteen grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was known by many in the family as the hands that held us together and she will be dearly and deeply missed by all.

A private graveside service will be held Friday, December 11, 2020 at Oakwood Memorial Park. Mrs. Butler may be viewed on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
