Randy Thompson

Mr. Randy F. Thompson, son of the late Herbert A. Thompson and Mary Florence Claridy Thompson was born December 4, 1956 in Longs, South Carolina. He attended the public schools of Horry County and was a graduate of Florence-Darlington Technical College. He was also a Veteran of the United States Air Force. Randy was employed with AVX Corporation in Myrtle Beach, SC for over 20 years.

He was united in holy matrimony to Gail Wilson of Longs, SC on April 7, 1989. This union was blessed with one daughter Courtney R. Thompson of Rock Hill, SC and one stepson Jamie D. Wilson of Longs, SC.

Randy had a generous spirit and pleasant personality, was lobed by many, and his influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew him. He quietly departed this life, Wednesday November 25, 2020 at Seacoast McLeod Hospital, Little River, SC.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and three brothers , Rudolph Thompson, Robert Lee Thompson, and Herbert A. Thompson Jr.

He leaves to cherish his loving wife: Gail Wilson of Longs, SC, one daughter: Courtney Thompson of Rock Hill, SC, one stepson: Jamie Wilson of Longs, SC, three sisters: Catherine T. “Honey” Bellamy of Longs, SC, Hazel L. Thompson and Margaret J. Foster both of Little River, SC, five brothers: Jimmy (Darlene) Thompson of Hopewell, VA, Edward “Charles” (Patrina) Thompson of Longs, SC, Heyward Thompson of Utah, Roy (Belinda) Thompson of Louisiana, and Freddy (Marion) Thompson of California, two sisters-in-law: Lily Pearl Gerald and Sabrina Benjamin of Longs, SC, special friends: Ulysses Williams, Lenford Frinks, and Virtus Wilson and a special nephew: Steven Bellamy all of Longs, SC. He will be greatly missed by nieces, nephews, cousins, and other numerous relatives and friends.

Viewing for Mr. Thompson will be held Monday, November 30, 2020 in the D.L. Grate Memorial Chapel at United Funeral Home LLC from 4pm-7pm. **DUE TO COVID-19, MASK ARE REQUIRED FOR ENTRY**

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Abigail Cemetery in Longs, SC at 1pm. Reverend Timothy Patrick will do the eulogy.
