Obituary For Mrs. Caroline Whittle Burney

Caroline Whittle Burney, also known as “Kine”, was born October 13, 1945 to the late Eli and Bervena Fairley Whittle in Vancleave, MS. She departed this life, on November 25, 2020 at the age of 75, in Ocean Springs, MS. Caroline graduated from Keys High School in Ocean Springs, MS. She enjoyed simple things, and nothing made her happier than dropping her cane pole in some water, riding through as many country roads as possible, spending time with her family, and especially teasing those she loved. She took pride in her children and grandchildren. Every time someone saw her, she was right next to a family member. She held a great presence in this life, and a great void in her absence. Caroline was a dedicated member of AOH Holiness Church of Vancleave, MS, where she served as President of the Mother Board and was a former member of the choir. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Pete, Earl, Baby Whittle, and Eli Jr. (Mary), and Lester; and a sister Adell (Mack) Fleming. She married the late Harry Daniel “Tucker” Burney, and they shared three children, Carolyn Bervena “Boo Boo” Burney-Hall (Donald), Harry Daniel “Danny” Burney Jr. (Amy), and Kelly Terrand Burney (Megan); eleven grandchildren, Charity Burney, Bryan Joseph, Nikita Buxton, Dennis Hughes Jr., LeBrannon Hughes, Dallas Burney, D’Lasdon Burney, Dontarius Hall, Aaryanna Burney, Tucker Burney, and Gianna Burney; and eleven great grandchildren, Jyrielle Burney, Mikhail Burney, Marlon Burney, Dezmond Chatman, Jaylen Chatman, Bryan Joseph II, Beaux Joseph, Brody Joseph, Brooklynn Burney, Dallas Burney Jr, and Kaiden Burney. Caroline was the seventh of fourteen children. She leaves behind three brothers, Matthew L. (Harriet) Whittle, Levander (Gloria Jean) Whittle, Glen (LouEthel) Whittle; and four sisters, Zelle Mae (Wilbur) Reddix, Flora Whittle, Hellan (Robert) Simpson, and Ethel (the Late Robert) Weathersby. She also leaves her Aunt Cleo Fairley, Uncle James Warren, and Sister/Cousin VivIan “BB” Warren, and a host of family and friends. Viewing will be December 2, 2020 from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at AOH Holiness Church; 14121 Omega Road, Vancleave, MS. Graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Cedar Grove Cemetery; Omega Road, Vancleave, MS.
