Lessie Graham Sanford

Tallahassee - Lessie Graham Sanford, 96, passed away peacefully at her home Saturday, November 28, 2020.

She was a retired teacher in Leon County. She was also an active member and Church mother of Philadelphia P.B. Church. She earned her Bachelor and Master's degrees from Florida A&M University.

Mrs. Sanford civic commitment include her beloved Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, the National Association of University Women, Wakulla retired Educators Association and the Callen Neighborhood Association.

She is survived by one of thirteen sibling, Mary Wooten; one son, Bernard (Delyene) Sanford; two grandchildren, Batiste Sanford and Porsha (Collin) Sanford-Joseph; two great grandchildren, William and Aaron Joseph; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Sanford on November 2, 2000.

Graveside service will be 2 P.M. Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Southside Cemetery. Viewing will be Friday, December 4, 2020 from 11 A.M. to 6 P.M. at Strong & Jones Funeral Home.
